Flood of Love 2008

Project Moore
Flood Damaged Home

Description

This project is located in the Boistfort/Curtis valley. The home was severely damaged from the flood waters. The family has lived here for 40+ years. This project is being conducted as a joint effort project with the Free Methodist Church from Arlington, WA. They have already been on site and completed the excavation process from underneath the floor area. All permits have been acquired and the rebuilding process is under way.

Mostly volunteer team members, from the Arlington Free Methodist Church, have made the repairs on the project up to this moment. The floors have been reframed and the house is currently being dried out with building heaters. No access will be made inside until it reaches the County approved moisture level.

Aprill 22 update from Bob Duke (Flood of Love project coordinator):
Project is moving ahead slowly. The Free Methodist Church has been working on this project. The installation of windows and siding will continue to be worked on and then the installation of the GWB. The exterior areas around the home are still too muddy to work on landscaping. Focus will remain on the structure. Drywall tapers and those with carpentry skills are most currently needed.
