LOCAL CHURCH HIGHLIGHTS & NEWS

JUNE 2008

Lakewood Samoan: Report received too late for the statistical side but here are their numbers. Resp. List 54, SDMI 41 and AM 52. Thanks for reporting.

Maple Valley: Zone missionary meeting held at MVCN on Wednesday the 25th, Four churches represented, and we heard from Monte Cyr family.  We all had good fellowship, and dinner. The people enjoyed the Cyr's presentation.

Camas: June has been a busy month, starting with a wonderful Faith Promise weekend with Dr. Moore, a former missionary in central Africa.  He spoke at a banquet on Saturday night, Sunday morning services and Sunday evening as well.  What a Spirit filled time!  The following Sunday, we honored our six graduating High School seniors with personalized Bibles. We also recognized our Sunday School volunteers for all their hard work and dedication.  The Youth group had a very successful garage sale fund raiser for their mission trip and on June 28th, a group of 14 that includes our High School teens and four adults left for a Work and Witness trip to the Blackfoot Indian reservation in Montana.  We are gearing up for our VBS in July, which will recreate 'Jerusalem Marketplace' for families in our area.  We are blessed with wonderful servants and a field white with opportunities.  God has really blessed us and we pray that we will be faithful to His call.

Anacortes: The last time we met in Anacortes all the people that we were having a Bible Study with said basically we have really enjoyed these last two years of Bible Study and you are great people, however, we have all found churches to attend during the closing and we are satisfied there. We wish you both well, call us when you are in town but we are satisfied where we are attending at the present. But look for the  BIG NEWS IN  September when we restart the church. Paul and Sharon

Oak Harbor: We honored 15 student graduates from various educational institutions. With 4 more headed to NNU this fall. Recent weeks have seen more than 20 new families attending services. We have baptisms every two weeks, with many profession Christ at our services. God is working!

Vancouver Fourth Plain: Enjoyed a super Patriotic Sunday with 233 in attendance. Great event with lots of pomp and circumstance. Proud to be an American!

Port Orchard: One woman received Prayer Ministry at the close of a Sunday’s service. She was healed of lung cancer! She felt that her lungs were taking in air much better than they were before receiving prayer. 2 Cat Scans and her doctor have confirmed that cancerous nodules in her lungs are now gone. The doctors are amazed because even aggressive chemotherapy did not take the nodules off! Thank You Lord Jesus Our Healer! The Youth Group had a great Summer Kickoff with 20 visitors and are going strong for Jesus!

Tacoma First: With great support for our teens, we joined the Bethel CON on mission trip to Sun Valley Indian School outside of Holbrook, AZ.  Our combined team of 14 did many great projects for SVIS, and returned home with a renewed vision for ministry to others and those in need. Also, we had a great time at our annual Independence Celebration Service and BBQ.  This year we honored those involved in law enforcement, giving them a gift to let them know we are praying for them, and gave a Police Officers Bible to the two police substations which serve the immediate area of our church.

Vancouver Safe Harbor: Dedicated three children and baptized three on June 29.  God is blessing.

Forks: VBS with Custom Garage went awesome.   The total amount raised was enough to purchase 4 Proclaimers that will be sent with someone going to a Spanish speaking country on W&W.   Total 40 kids with only 12 from last year, so 28 new kids!   We had pre-purchased a Proclaimer so people could see what it was and how it worked.

DID YOU EVER WONDER WHY?

Did you ever wonder why you receive two copies of this letter? The reason is I know how hard it to copy stuff, so one copy is for the Pastor and the second copy is for the SDMI Chairman or their significant other, whomever that might be. So Pastor all you have to do is just pass one copy on and you can enjoy you own private copy.
